It is 2016.

At the time of writing this article the human population stands at 7.2 billion. We divide ourselves with borders. These fictional perimeters criss and cross to segment the world, formulating one hundred and ninety-six different countries. Without exception these countries accumulate into one of seven continents and it is these continents that amass to represent all land on Earth. Our Earth.

Our planet was forged over 4.543 billion years ago. Through the defiance of unfathomable odds, it came to exist and in consequence so did we. The gravity of it’s almost impossible formation can only be described as miraculous. Yet blink, zoom out to drink in the bigger picture and really it represents just a single, insignificant blip within the infinity that caused the incredulous balance of the Universe.

It is this balance that has incubated the conditions for life itself.  The reason we touch, see, hear, smell and feel. The reason we walk, talk and love. The reason rain falls and the sun shines. The reason our hearts beat…
