Who will you be this year?

thinking1

As another year comes to an end, I find myself reflecting back on the decisions I have made and the person I am now. I like to think that with every year comes a new lesson, and it is my personal responsibility to try and embrace the constant uncertainty that life throws, and to make the most of every opportunity that comes my way.

This year, I have realised the necessity of being unapologetically me.

I am so tired of worrying about what others think of me or of what I have to say. I mean let’s face it, to some degree we all care about the approval of others, but to what detriment?

We all have these nagging insecurities or self-limiting beliefs that kick in now and then telling us what we can, can’t, or shouldn’t do. We live in a society that suppresses our emotions to the point of only being able to express them through physical outbursts or taking narcotics such as drugs or alcohol. I know many people, including myself, that have or have had an unconscious fear of openly expressing their truth. The unfortunate consequence of these suppressed emotions is that people resort to resentful judgment and discriminate others based on ‘preconceived ideas’ that social conditioning and propaganda have drilled into people’s identities.

Many of us look up to the media’s interpretation of what ‘SUCCESSFUL’ looks like, but we remain ignorant to that fact that a handful of the ‘SUCCESSFUL’ are dead and depressed inside. It appears in this generation it is much more acceptable to idolise or point the finger at others rather than deal with the responsibility and discipline over ourselves. Forever blaming the external world for the fears, we don’t want to internally confront. Here’s the thing though: if you don’t learn love yourself, you’ll end up projecting that lack onto others.

food for thought

The problem currently is that people are out of sync with their spirituality. Out of sync with love and lightness and out of sync with their fundamental purpose in life, lost. Being out of touch with reality, one starts to resist the natural ‘flow’ within the universe. This flow is in alignment with pure intentions, morals and actions. When you become in flow with the universe, things naturally start aligning up with the energy that you put in. Therefore, some people may naturally seem lucky or blessed. Things just go their way because of their mindset towards life. They are one with the flow, aligned. When you resist change you create blockages, and these blockages lead to un-fulfilment. It is here where you become detached to your true purpose & power and become lost in this 3D, material realm, insecure and filtered…

fit in1

I know who I am now and what my purpose here on this Earth is. I see the truth in me, and I can see it in others, desperately trying to be acknowledged, accepted and understood. Only until you truly understand who you are deep down, can you be happy and content at your core. Every religion has been designed to guide people towards something to believe in. I’m not suggesting you should go and buy a bible and head down to your nearest church, but if there is anything to believe in, it should simply be to believe in yourself! let your intuition guide you and your awareness ground you. Pay attention to all the small details no matter how insignificant they may appear to be.

2019

Another year, Another you!

Now in 2019 I refuse to portray a watered-down version of myself to satisfy my insecurities and the insecurities of others. I have a voice and I’m going to use it. I have gifts and I’m going to share them, and I have dreams and I will fulfil them. No disclosure, full throttle. It’s scary showing your true face to the world, but fear of rejection has deterred me for far too long. I know am a spiritual being. I know I have no limitations and I know there is nothing to fear but myself. I can’t be labelled nor can I be put into a box that limits my potential any longer. I am constantly changing & evolving, failing & regaining, and always wanting/needing to express my most authentic self.

New Years Resolutions:

  1. If people cannot accept you for you who you are, let them go.
  2. If there are new things you want to achieve or try but your ego is telling you of all the things that could go wrong, release the worry.
  3. If you are constantly being told you need to conform to a fixed world, evolve.

It’s not your problem that others can’t see the changes that are necessary for growth . It is not your fault you were born into a world where you’re ahead of your time. NEVER allow someone to convince you that you need to change to conform. If anything, they are most likely the ones who are afraid of the change. Instead, Focus on creating a better world in the future, one that is going to support you and others like you. Embrace all that you are with the confidence that someone, somewhere will take value in you being your unapologetic self. We need more visionary’s in the world, for they are the ones that have paved the way forward for the next generation. They are the ones who spark an idea of light in a world surrounded by darkness. Nicolas Tesla, Einstein, Copernicus, The Wright brothers etc; If it weren’t for daring people, being different and authentic, we wouldn’t be living in the world we live in today.

Have confidence in you. Have faith in the unknown. If you’re not going to uplift someone in a positive way do nothing, but tune into your emotions an intuition for guidance and don’t ever follow someone else’s path just because it’s the ‘trend’.

2019, who are you going to choose to be?

Me?

I will be

Unapologetically

Me.

Thanks for writing such a wonderful post Genn. It’s crazy how so many of us choose to show a certain percentage of our true selves for the fear of being rejected. Yes. We do need more people to show their true selves and steer from the status quo so we can make change in this world! Keep posting.
